UK-REACH Registration Introduction
The UK officially left the European Union on January 31, 2020, and the Brexit transition period ended on December 31, 2020. From January 1, 2021, the UK will formally implement an independent chemical regulatory regulation, namely UK-REACH. It’s full name is "Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals". It is a localized chemical regulation based on the EU REACH regulation, which basically replicates the requirements of the EU REACH regulation. According to the requirements of the UK REACH regulations, if foreign companies export substances ≥ 1 ton/year (including substances themselves, substances in mixtures or substances intentionally released in articles) to the UK, they need to fulfill the corresponding registration obligations under UK REACH.
 
 
Scope of UK REACH
· UK REACH is applicable to England, Scotland and Wales. According to the Northern Ireland Protocol, the Northern Ireland region will continue to comply with the relevant provisions of EU REACH and not be subject to the supervision of UK REACH regulations.
 
 
UK REACH Registration Entity
· Producers of substances, preparation in the UK.
· Importers of substance, preparation in the UK.
· Non-UK manufactures of substance, preparation: they must appoint an only representative (OR) to complete the registration.

 
 
 
Use the "Grandfather Clause" to inherit the EU REACH registration number and obtain a complete registration grace period
· Within 120 days (by April 30, 2021), you can obtain the official UK REACH registration number after submitting the basic registration information to HSE;
· No need to pay administrative fees to HSE;
· The "Grandfather Clause" applies to all registrations (including intermediates) held by companies in the UK, including the only representative in the UK, individual submission, joint submission and lead registrant. For overseas businesses of the UK, the "Grandfather Clause" does not apply.
 
Entrust British OR to submit DUIN notification and obtain formal registration grace period
· Submit registration information to HSE within 300 days (by October 27, 2021);
· From October 28, 2021, according to the registered tonnage and hazard, the official registration information will be submitted within the registration grace period of 2, 4 or 6 years.
· Applicable to non-UK companies holding EU REACH registration numbers. Companies that currently do not have an EU REACH registration number can complete the EU REACH registration before October 27, 2021, and then entrust the UK OR to submit a DUIN notification to obtain a formal registration grace period of 2 to 6 years.
 
Entrust British OR to submit formal registration and export after registration
· Applicable to non-UK companies that do not hold an EU REACH registration number or miss the deadline for submitting a DUIN notification;
· There is no registration grace period, and you need to complete the UK REACH registration before you can export to the UK;
· Need to pay administrative fees to HSE;
